.NET Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server

This project implements a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server using .NET. MCP allows large language models (LLMs) to securely call tools and access additional resources through a standardized protocol.

• /src - Contains all source code
• /docs - Contains documentation
• /.devcontainer - Development container configuration
• /.vscode - VS Code settings and configurations

Getting Started

Prerequisites

• .NET 9 SDK or later
• Visual Studio Code (recommended)
• VS Code C# extension

Running the Server

1. Open the project in VS Code and use the "Launch MCP Server" configuration to start in debug mode.

   OR

2. Run the following commands from the terminal:

   cd src/McpServer
   dotnet run
   

Development with Dev Container

This project includes a dev container configuration for consistent development environments. To use it:

1. Install the Remote - Containers extension in VS Code
2. Open the project in VS Code
3. Click the green icon in the bottom-left corner and select "Reopen in Container"
